Covered By the Blood Films is an independent film production company that showcases works written, produced and directed by its founder Kimberly Holt.

These tales highlight the internal struggles and external pressures that come with trying to follow the faithful path in an increasingly wicked and material world.

Each time shining a light on our need for a savior and to accept the finished and redemptive work of Jesus Christ suffered on the cross for us all.

Admonishing the viewer, with every project, to take an introspective look at oneself, daring us to ask the question, "Are You Covered?"

From Running Away to Covered

While the name, Covered By the Blood Films, was inspired by Exodus 12:13, it means so much more than that.  In the old testament, animals were sacrificed to God as a sin offering.  In the new testament, Jesus shedding his blood on the cross, was the perfect sacrifice he made for us, so that our sins may be permanently washed away, releasing us from the sting of “death.” So, to be covered by the blood means you have made a testament of faith and belief in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior and the understanding that he was not just a man, but "the Christ, the son of the living God." 

In the life of a believer in Christ, you are covered by the blood He shed on the cross at Calvary and although we will die, as Christ did on the cross, we will rise again/be resurrected, as he did.  With that belief we are given the gift of salvation from our sins and the promise of everlasting life.

            "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"                                                                                    - John 11:25 - 26

So, why choose the name, Covered by the Blood Films?

When I was baptized in 2011, I was making the choice and a public testament that I was accepting Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.  Having been touched by many trials and tribulations throughout my life, just a year before my baptism, I was hit by the worst of them all.  I was broken, terrified and thought my life was truly over, so I was driven to make that commitment then because I was in such turmoil, I wanted to get right with God.  But instead of my life ending, God showed me that my life was taking a new turn, being set on a new path. 

Like when Saul became Paul, I had reached my Damascus Road and I had a choice to make.  I made the right one.  For me the story of how Covered by the Blood Films came to be is a painful one, but I am at least able to look forward to the future. Understanding what Jesus did for me and the life that God has made possible, I can go on. 

So, when the pain and doubt comes, I think on this verse that I have adopted as my own.  "For I know the Plans I have for You, declares the Lord, plans to Prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

                                                                            - Jeremiah  29:11

Always remember the love that God has shown for us by sending his only begotten son, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ made the choice to lay down his life at Calvary, so that we may have salvation and everlasting life.  If someone loves you that much, how can you not love them back? 

When we go through these trials and tribulations, we are carrying our personal crosses as did Christ, but on the end of that, now when we carry those crosses, we know that we are never alone and there are promises that God has made us.   Some of the most powerful:  

"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."                                                                                                                                       - Deuteronomy 31:6. 

                  "...if God be for us, who can be against us."                                                        - Romans 8:31

I guess when I started over, I returned to writing and filmmaking for many reasons, one of them was it was something I enjoyed doing and I wanted to revisit some of what it meant for me, but I realized I needed a new name, I thought why not a name that had become personal to me.  So, RunAway Productions became Covered By the Blood Films, with the hope that every time someone sees the name, maybe they will want to come to know more about what the name means, what it signifies, and in doing so, maybe I can help spread that hope and the promise of a future that He has given me to someone else in need.         

         "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."                                                                               - Mark 16:15

“For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!”

“And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,”                                                                                                                                                       - Ephesians 6:19
